Rev. Geggie, was extended a call to Zion to be their pastor, but on November 20, a letter was read from the pulpit by Rev. Whiteside that Mr. Geggie had declined the call.

I899 Rev. Donald Ban MacLeod was inducted as pastor of Zion on April I l. He was born in Orwell, P.E.l.

The yearjust closed has witnessed the complete renovation of our Church building, giving us now a neat. attractive and comfortable house of worship. The congregation voted $l00. a year for the next five years to Mrs. Minnie Sutherland, in appreciation of the noble work of our deceased pastor, Rev. David Sutherland.

Mention is made of Alfred Riggs who is now in South Africa fighting for Queen and Empire in the Boer War.

The Young Peoples Society of Christian Endeavour, formed in 1882, donated 20 chairs to the choir during the year. The Society also supports a deaf mute boy taken from the Poor House and now in Fredericton. The flower committee delivered I39 bouquets or potted plants to the Hospital and the Poor House.

1900 The envelope system is both simple and satisfactory and its universal adoption was again urged.

The angel of death entered some of our homes during the past year, and twelve are missing from our ranks, and we would be reminded of the uncertainty of human life and the necessity of being up and doing while it is day.

We have I86 families - one more than last year, and there were 3 l2 communicants on the roll at the beginning of the year. During the present pastorate of less than four years, I30 have been received into the membership of the Church.
