1906 Senior elder William Mutch , died in May at age 86 after 56 years as an elder. September saw the departure of Rev. Sedgewick to Hamilton Ontario. He was replaced by Rev. George E . Ross who was inducted December 9th. The sum of $4,450 was subscribed to purchase a site for the new Church and Sabbath School, at the corner of Prince & Grafton Streets, known then as Hobbs Corner. Through efforts of the subscription committee, this site will be completely paid for by May 1907. 1907 There are two hundred and five families, with seventy five single persons not belonging to these families. The communion roll shows a total membership of three hundred and thirty seven. During the year 52 names have been added - eleven by certificate and forty one by profession of faith. Due to the growing needs of the congregation, the session deemed it necessary to have its hands strengthened in carrying forth the work committed to its care. An election of five elders took place in April, three accepting office and were duly ordained and inducted on May 19: John A. Lawson , J. Ewen Matthews and Donald McKinnon . The Sabbath School report for the year took up countless pages. The School only held 50 sessions during the year due to the closure for two Sabbaths in March, owing to a threatened epidemic. Total attendance for the year was 10,046 for an average of 200 per Sabbath, an increase of 31 scholars per Sabbath over the previous year. Mr Samuel C. Nash , our veteran Sabbath School class leader, retired after many years of faithful service. Our pastor, ever on the alert for anything to enhance the interest of our new Zion Church, has interested the scholars in selling "bricks". In order further to systematize its work, the Session has divided the several wards of the city into elder's districts and prepared a complete list of families and persons for each, as follows:- WARD I WARD 2 WARD 3 WARD 4 WARD 5 (East) WARD 5 (Central) WARD 5 () WARD 5 (West) Water to Dorchester St Dorchester to St Richmond to Grafton Grafton to Fitzroy East of Weymouth, Longworth and St Peters Rd Longworth to Prince St Prince to Queen St West of Queen St W.
