Professor Fletcher, organist of the Methodist Church was engaged for four months at $200.00 per annum.
I92! Two outstanding features of the past year will be found in the organization of the Brotherhood and the designation of Dr. Florence Murray as our medical Missionary to Korea. Dr. Murray, who attended Zion Church during her college days at Prince of Wales has been set aside by the Mission Board of the Church.
Two new furnaces were added under the Sunday School room. Flaws in the roof of the church were repaired at a cost of $450. The use of the Duplex Envelope is again recommended and encouraged.
We made our annual visit to the Ladies Aid for funds, with which to pay the interest on the mortgage. They received us with their accustomed genial smiles and rewarded us with all the funds we required. They also assured us that should we require further assistance we would find the latch string on the outside.
Eight new Elders were added on January 21.
Number of Communicants were 622.
I922 73 new members were added to the Church. When the call came to Canada to help the Starving Russia, the, Presbyterian Church throughout our Dominion nobly responded. Our beloved Church though not rich in worldly goods gave the magnificent sum of $85 I .00
I923 This was in many respects a trying year for Prince Edward Island. An unusually severe winter was followed by an exodus of thousands of our Island people to the United States. In response to an appeal from Dr Florence Murray we were able to sent $500. for the renovation of the hospital under her charge, besides subscribing the usual amount for her salary.
In reviewing the Church life and work for the year, your Session would draw the attention of our people to the growing laxity with regard to attendance at the Communion and the mid-week Prayer meeting.
I924 The general depression felt throughout our Dominion has not touched us too heavily and on the whole we have had a very good year. The Service of Praise under the capable and painstaking direction of Prof. C. H. Cleworth, assisted by the faithful members of the choir has reached a point of efficiency never before attained in Zion Church.
The Shaw Estate lefl $2,000. to be invested, with the income to go to
the care of the Protestant poor of Charlottetown. D. Willoughby was engaged as supply organist.
