I938 The Session has been encouraged by the faithful attendance of a large number of the members and adherents of the congregation and is

particularly gratified by the splendid number of young people who worship with us.

On the last page of the Annual Report is the following: A FORM OF REQUEST

I give to Zion Presbyterian Church, Charlottetown, P. E. Island, the sum of dollars, to be used as the Session and Trustee Board of said Church at their discretion and judgement may determine. And I direct that this legacy may be paid to the Treasurer of the Church, whose receipt shall be good and sufficient discharge in respect thereof.

1939 As we assemble this evening for our annual meeting it is under the shadow of war clouds. Forces whose policy is quite antagonistic to all that the Church stands for have arrayed themselves against our nation. Our liberty, freedom of worship and all those things for which our fathers have suffered and died are being threatened. Under these clouds we meet, saddened by the thought of war and all that modern warfare means, but enlightened by the realization that the Lord, God Omnipotent reigneth. At the call of King and Country, a large number of men of the congregation enlisted for active service

The congregation has placed a memorial window in the memory of Captain, the Reverend George Claremont Taylor.

I940 The year has been a very fateful one in the history of the world. Many nations, which at the beginning of the year were free, have fallen and are now under the domination of our enemy aggressor.

Envelope collections were $3,370.24, plus open collections of $ 936.74, for a total of $4,306.98 ($82.83 per sunduy). The mortgage on the Manse is $5,750.00.

Considerable work was done to the church property during the year. Much tinting and painting on the interior greatly added to the appearance of the building. This was particularly true of the church basement hallway. Rather extensive repairs were made to the building at a cost of over a hundred dollars. ‘

l94l Membership now stands at 62L The members who have gone forth from the congregation at the call of King and Country have been increased during the year. The total now stands at approximately I40.

The number of Communicants is 732. There were 622 in |92l and only 302 in I925 following Union.

The names of the following were submitted for membership in the choir: Miss Betty Bruce, Mr. Earl Warren, Mr. William Bruce and James Lund.
