I951 The Session deplores the marked tendency in the pursuit of worldly pleasures among those who are communicants of the Church and with kindly solicitude reminds them oftheir obligations to the Christ who
died for them. The elders deeply regret that illness has necessitated the removal of
Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Webster to Toronto, and we pray that special medical skill may soon restore Mr. Webster in his fight against what may well be a serious physical disability.
Special mention was made of Senior Elder, Donald McKinnon, who was ordained in May I907 and since that time has served as Clerk of Session for some thirty-four years, retiring at the end of [950. Alex. A. MacDonald was appointed Clerk of Session.
A fire swept through the city block containing the Church in the month of August. Although the Church was spared, considerable redecorating of the upstairs classrooms on the west side as well as the choir room and entrance had to be done due to smoke damage. Lost in the fire were the businesses of Batt and MacRae, and Rankin MacLaine, as well as the Macl.aine house with all contents. In the summer the curb was removed on the Prince Street side of the church and the area from the street to the sidewalk was paved, allowing for additional parking spaces.
Her Royal Highness, Princess Elizabeth, graciously directed a compliment to Mrs. George Hooper, President of the Zion Auxiliary, regarding her skill at brewing a cup oftea.

I952 For the first half of the year, due to illness of the pastor, there was no regular pastoral oversight adding to the burden of session in arranging pulpit supply. Somers of the Kirk of St James, Rev. Donald Nicholson, Rev Donald Campbell, Dr. Frank MacKinnon, Mr. T.D. DeBlois.
