During the year, the church was redecorated, and new outside steps were added. Street lighting was provided for the Memorials Windows on Gralton Street.
Rev E. C. Evans is assisting our minister, both in services and visitations.
I956 Eleven new members have been added to our session (actually only [0): Earl Balderston, William A. Boisner, George Douglas, B. Earle MacDonald, Malcolm MacKenzie, Elmer MacRae, Murdock Nicholson, Ernest D. Reid, Joseph Rodd, and Arthur Roper.
Session records with sorrow the passing of three of our elders to a higher service during the year, F. A. A. Mutch, Lorne Coles, and George W. MacLeod.
The matter of the Church records being placed in a safe was brought up and moved by W. Blair MacDonald and seconded by Robert Parent, that we purchase a safe suitable for holding all Church records. A complete renovation of the heating system was carried out at a cost of $4,300.
An Act was passed incorporating all former Acts concerning Zion into a new one. '
A letter was received from lsland Broadcasting regarding our Church having Sunday morning services on the air.
The Synod of the Maritime Provinces met in Pictou, with Rev. Donald A. Campbell of Montague as Moderator. Donald Campbell met with the men of the church for stewardship instruction preceding the "every member canvas."

was acknowledged.
1957 During the year 29 members were added by profession of faith, l4 by certiļ¬cate and 24 transferred membership to other congregations and there were four deaths.
The Clerk of Session read a motion at the Annual Meeting, re the calling of an assistant minister. Ralph Balderston said. "We need another minister to help carry on the work especially among the Youth of this church. We must look to the future."
On May 9. we had the pleasure ofentertaining the Moderator ofthe General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Canada, The Right Reverend Dr. Findlay G. Stewart, together with the Deaconess Training School Choir. On October lst to 3rd the Maritime Synod and the new Moderator of the General Assembly, the Right Reverend Dr. A. D. MacKinnon were at Zion.
The total budget for the year was $2 I ,800.
