Roberta Shaw deaconess joined the church in October to assist the minister. It was noted Donald Moore, a member of Zion congregation, was in his final year at Presbyterian College, and Margaret Balderston in her second year at Ewart College.

I964 Donald Moore is now minister of St. Aidan's Church in St. John's, Newfoundland. (the degree of Th.M. is recorded, but by I994 he has: Dip.Ed., B.A., B.Ed., M.Div., M.Th.)

Ernest Cudmore retired from the Board Of Trustees afier thirty five years of service, including ten years as Chairman.

The Board purchased l00 new chairs for the Sunday School Hall. Discussion on a new Church door was entertained and the heating system needs repair.

I965 Harry A. MacDougall, ordained as an elder in I926 died on March 2. Two other elders, Ernest A. Cudmore and B. Earl MacDonald died this year as well.

An average of 460 members took communion in four services.

In February, the Cudmore Business Equipment property next door on Grafton Street was burned. The Church received considerable damage to the west wall and roof, and as well the memorial windows. Considerable redecorating was required inside the Church and Sunday School. A large amount of glass was required in the west windows and the MacLaren Memorial Window had to be taken out and sent to Saint John for repairs.

At a special meeting on September 14, approval was given to purchase the Cudmore Business Equipment property west of the Church for twenty thousand dollars.

The Ministers Study was renovated.

I966 The highlight of the year was on March 5, when Rev. Donald Campbell received a Doctorate of Divinity from his Alma Mater, Presbyterian College, Montreal. A testimonial reception was held in the church on Friday April 29.

The church is happy to share in the cost of the Presbyterian Church Pavilion at Expo' 67 in Montreal.

The new Presbyterian Congregation in Sherwood-Parkdale is erecting a church called St. Mark's. It will see some of our members going to the new Church.

Mr. Hugh Lowry was welcomed as Assistant Minister to Zion.

New laminated oak doors were purchased for the Choir entrance on Grafton Street. The new four panel Prince Street Memorial Window in the balcony area was installed. The bequest from the estate of the late C. Harold Gillespie was used for the installation of the windows. The windows in this area were in need of repair. They represent the only stained glass windows in the Church without a specific dedication.

New choir gowns were introduced.
