1967 It has been approved to donate $8,400 over the next three years to St. Mark's as our contribution for the erecting of their new Church. A manse for our Assistant Minister was purchased at . The Mens Parlor / Cloak Room was renovated into two offices, one for the Church Secretary and one for the new Assistant Minister. 1968 The Womens Auxiliary have again made a very substantial contribution to the General Fund of the Church in the amount of $3,600. The attics of the Church and Sunday School Hall were insulated. The Synod of the Provinces met in Charlottetown October 4-6 with Rev. Wallace E . Whyte of Chatham , New Brunswick as Moderator. 1969 Dr. Donald Campbell brought great honor to Zion when he was suggested as the next Moderator of the General Assembly . Steady progress was made toward the opening of a Zion Church Library . By year end 27 books had been received. Bookshelves were made to hold 500 books. Mrs. Wilma Stead is now in the process of cataloguing the books as our new librarian. (As this book goes to press, Wilma is still the librarian) The interior of the church has been completely redecorated. The memorial windows on the side have been repaired and protective glass is to be placed over them during the next year. 1970 The anniversary service guest preacher was Rev. John A . Johnston , M.A. , Th .M., Ph .D., a former student minister of Zion Church. The Woman's Auxiliary has contributed $22,660 to the Church in the last eight years, an average of over $2,800. per year. The Auxiliary continues to be the most substantial and consistent financial contributor to the care and upkeep of the Church. 1971 Rev. Murdo Nicholson , M.A ., D.D ., of Calgary, Moderator of the General Assembly was the guest speaker, as Zion hosted the Synod in honoring the 150th Anniversary of the founding of the Presbytery of Prince Edward Island .(in October II, 1821). The Church bank loan at $24,000 December 31, 1970, has been reduced to $11,200. While $1,000 was estimated to air condition the Kindergarten rooms, $5,000 was required. The Tape ministry was approved and introduced to tape the Sunday sermons to be distributed to shut-ins. 1972 In preparation for the Centennial (in 1975 it would be 100 years as the Presbyterian Church in Canada ) it was suggested bells be installed 52-
