in the church tower. A sound system was dedicated May 7 and placed in the Sanctuary and Sunday School Room of the church, by Mrs. E. A. Cudmore in memory of her husband.
Waldon B. Moase was ordained in a service at Zion on June 27, I972. He ministers in River John Charge in Nova Scotia.
The Moderator of Synod of the Atlantic Provinces this year was Rev. Gordon J. Matheson of Tatamagouche, N.S.
I973 The Maple Street manse was sold and a better one bought at Woodbine Street. New carpet was installed in the Greenfield manse. Work was done on the Church tower: repainting brickwork and louvres repaired. The heating pipes were insulated to save heating cost and cut down on excessive heat in the lower hall.
44 Sunday School students were presented awards for perfect attendance.
On September 30, the new Carillon Chimes were dedicated to the glory of God. The cost was $6,159.00
I974 In November 8 special Centennial service was held with the theme "Remembrance, Renewal and Response" Geddie Memorial Church restoration is a centennial project of the Prince Edward island Presbytery and Zion will contribute.
Discussion was made about the need for a sprinkler system for the Church.
Rev. Gordon J. Matheson was guest speaker at the Anniversary service on May 26. Rev. Hugh Davidson, Moderator of the General Assembly, was guest speaker October l3.
The progressive efficiency of the Choir under the direction of Mr. Royston Mugford, A.R.C.O. and supply organist Miss Faye Rogerson reflects such credit on both the instructor and members.
I975 On June 8, Dr. Donald MacLeod of Princeton Theological Seminary was the centennial speaker for a Presbytery wide service held at Zion. Dr. Mario Di Gangi preached a Centennial series during the next week on Tuesday through Thursday. Banners have been raised in the Sunday School Hall and the Church Sanctuary giving insight into the faith and aspirations of the Church, challenging us to think anew.
Miss Doris MacLeod was elected a Trustee, being the first woman in the history ofthe Church.
An average of 458 took part in the 4 communion services.
I976 The Womens Auxiliary, again came forward with a substantial contribution to the work of the Church, donating $7,800 to the sprinkler fund and $3,000 to the general account. The west side roof of the Sunday School was replaced and the sprinkler system was completely installed.
