for proposed construction of the Department of Veterans Affairs building. Their offer of $96,837 was accepted.

At the Anniversary Service on May 27. eight senior elders were presented with scrolls for faithful service rendered over many years. They were: William Boisner, Herbert Jewell, Millar MacDonald, Malcolm MacKenzie, Fred MacRae, Major MacRae, Robert Parent and Joseph Rodd.

Ceiling fans and attic insulation were installed in the main sanctuary at a cost of $7,930, which was cost-shared by the Church and Enersave. A l000 gallon fuel storage tank was buried on the south side of the church as the previous location is not now owned by the church.

Average attendance at the four communion services was 525.

I980 31 members were added to the church roll, l3 by profession of faith.

The Choir began making plans for the purchase of a grand piano for the Church Sanctuary. Throughout the year donations came in and the piano was delivered before year end at a cost of $l2,690. New choir gowns, gold with wine collars were introduced.

Donald Blaikie was hired to set up youth programs.

In the Appendix is listed the Superintendents of the Sunday School from its founding to date, but it is not without the assistance of the teachers. The department heads this year were:

1981 A special meeting of the congregation was held on May 2| to go over the plans presented by the building committee which was set up over l8 months ago. it recommended: . Alter the front entrance of the Church . Install a wheel chair ramp . Make a second floor in the Sunday School Hall . Add washrooms upstairs and down . Kitchenette in the Ladies Parlor . Classroom space in the Coles Hall . Air ventilation system for downstairs . Soundproof the Coles Hall . Build storage area with fireproof vault downstairs

The estimate was $l75,000, approved by a vote of 75% and tenders were called.

The Brace Block Estate paid out $22,000 to assist twenty four

students in the ministry of which six were Presbyterian.
