I988 On July 5, the following were ordained at Zion, into the Presbyterian Church: M. Wayne Bu'rke, Andrew Hutchinson and David Hayward.
The minister has completed a new home for his family and the Scott Street manse is now leased for a six month period.
The Zion weekday Kindergarten celebrated its tenth year in operation.
I989 Our minister celebrated 25 years in the ministry this year, twelve of those years being in Zion.
The friendship pads were introduced in the Church by Dorothy Taylor. The pads, when completed during the reception of offering, help with visitations and keep the Church management in touch with the congregation.
The l22th annual missionary conference was held April 6-9 with Dr. Mario Di Gangi as the guest speaker.
September 10th marked a special occasion in the Church when Dr. Donald A. Campbell, past minister of the church and Rev. Donald Nicholson were inducted as Ministers Emeriti of Zion. Their Grandsons, Paul Morrell and Rev. Roger MacPhee respectively, took part in the special service.
Rev. and Mrs Matheson took a number of Zion people on a European trip through England, Scotland and several Continental European countries.
