The Sunday evening services were changed to Thursday evening for July and August.

Suzanne MacKinnon donated a beautiful piano to the Sunday School in memory of her father, Donald.

l994 The Minister's report records: 18 weddings, 20 baptisms, 40 funerals, and 23 joined the church by certificate or by profession of faith.

Wayne Burke, Associate Minister, resigned on December 3| after three years with Zion. His sermons and ministry will be missed by all.

As well, our Youth Director, David Nicolle has resigned alter three years of faithful service.

As in years gone by, the Women's Auxiliary always comes through with a substantial contribution to the schemes of the church, this year providing the Board of Trustees with $3,800. as well as providing for other causes to a total of over $4,400.

The Church, in keeping with the business community trend, has created a Mission Statement: "TO KNOW CHRIST AND TO MAKE HIM KNOWN". The committee has done a great job on this extensive pamphlet.

The rear outside wall of the church was repaired at a cost of over $33,000. The organ was cleaned and repaired.

I995 The Session divided the church role call into five zones, with zone captains and elders assigned. This year, without an assistant minister, greater reliance was placed on others in the church to assist the minister in the functions ofthe church.

The library is open between 9:00 am. and 12:00 noon on Sundays for the loan and return of books and videos with the ever faithful Wilma Stead at the helm.

Stephen Stead, student minister, headed the Daily Vacation Bible School program this summer.

On April l8, Rev. George C. Vais, D.D., Moderator of the General Assembly, visited the Church.

New choir gowns were introduced this Fall, with the current one being fifteen years old. The new ones are burgundy with white collar trim.

I996 Two major events highlighted the year in the life of Zion Church: Rev. Gordon J. Matheson was honored with the Degree of Doctor of Divinity by Presbyterian College, Montreal on May 9th. Zion was the Slle for the I22nd General'Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Canada. This was only the second time the General Assembly was held in Atlantic Canada, the last being 26 years ago in Halifax.
