Born Rosshire, Scotland, I806 he was educated at Aberdeen University. He came to New Brunswick in I849. He was ordained and inducted November 30, I850, as the first settled pastor for Valleyfield, Cardigan, Grand River (Dundas) and Brown's Creek. He continued to minister to them until his retirement in I884, when he went to live with his daughter Isabel. wife of Rev. Ernest Bayne, in Musquodoboit. He died there July l2, l885. Rolls, Alexander Preached at Free Church: November 4, I854 - I855
He was sent in I854 as a probationist by the Synods Home Mission Committee to preach at Charlottetown, Long Creek and adjacent settlements.
Ross, Rev. Alexander

Like Alexander Munro, he was a native of Rosshire, Scotland, born on May I2, I830. He received his MA. at New College Edinburgh and was licensed on June 6, I860, in the Presbytery of Fain, Scotland, and immediately left for Pictou. On Sept l9, I860, he was ordained and inducted as pastor of Knox Church, Pictou, in time to take part in the Union of |860(see Appendix).
Al‘ter nineteen years in Pictou. and fourteen in Woodville, Lindsay, Ontario, he went to Whycocomagh, Cape Breton in I895 and retired August 30, I903, to Lindsay and died at age eighty nine on December l8, l9l9, in his fifty ninth year of ministry. He had a DD. degree ofwhich he never made known.
Sutherland, Rev. Alexander

Born in Lairg, Scotland, January 5, I8I6, he came as a child with his parents to Nova Scotia. He completed his education in Edinburgh and was ordained and inducted in Earltown, Nova Scotia. Moved to New London in I852. During the early part of his ministry, he attended to the needs of Brookfield, Clyde River, West River and Strathalbyn. During his seven years there, Granville was first organized as a preaching station.
