Born: Dec 6, 1800 Ordained: Mar 26 1826 Died: Sep I882
Bom Pictou, Nova Scotia, December 6, I800, and educated at Pictou Academy and Divinity Hall (first group). He was sent to Scotland and ‘ after the necessary examination was granted the degree of MA. by Glasgow University. He was ordained and inducted at Bedeque, March 26, I826, and served there until his death in September l882. Though his, stipend was never large, for many years he gave one-tenth and for the last few years, one—fifth, of his annual income for religious and benevolent purposes.
He was a student the whole of his life, learning Spanish at the age of seventy. His ministry of 56 l/2 years to one congregation is probably one of the longest in the history of the Canadian Church. He was married three times and buried them all.
