Robert Sim March 9, 1847 (Earliest recorded preacher of the 'preaching station' at Charlottetown ) Born: Dec 6, 1800 Ordained: Mar 26 1826 Died: Sep 1882 Born Pictou , Nova Scotia , December 6, 1800, and educated at Pictou Academy and Divinity Hall (first group). He was sent to Scotland and after the necessary examination was granted the degree of M.A . by Glasgow University. He was ordained and inducted at Bedeque , March 26, 1826, and served there until his death in September 1882. Though his stipend was never large, for many years he gave one-tenth and for the last few years, one-fifth, of his annual income for religious and benevolent purposes. He was a student the whole of his life, learning Spanish at the age of seventy. His ministry of 56 1/2 years to one congregation is probably one of the longest in the history of the Canadian Church.
