Presbyterian College, Halifax. On October 3|, I909, he delivered his farewell sermon following forty nine years with the same congregation. The next year he celebrated the jubilee of his ordination. He continued to live in Tatamagouche until his death on December 20, I92I

On August 22, I926, the new Church in Tatamagouche, following the Union was dedicated and opened as Sedgewick Memorial in memory of Dr. Thomas Sedgewick.

Rev. Thomas Sedgewick was the uncle of Rev. W. H. Sedgewick later minister of Zion Church I904 - I906.

Patterson, Rev. Dr. George

Born in Pictou, April 30, 1824, he was educated, Pictou Academy, Dalhousie University and Edinburgh, Scotland. George was ordained as pastor in Greenhill, Nova Scotia on October 31, I849. He retired from there, October 30, I876, to live in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia and died there October 26, I897. In I859 he wrote "the memoir of the Rev. James MacGregor D.D." his grandfather. He wrote many other books on Church history.

Bayne, Rev. Dr. James

Born: I8 I4 Ordained: I842 Died: Dec 9, I876

Born Dunbar, Scotland, I8 I4, he was educated Edinburgh University and United Succession Hall. He came to Nova Scotia and taught school in Maitland before his ordination in Londonderry, Nova Scotia in 1842. In I851 he was called to Prince Street Church, Pictou, where he served until his death December 9, I876. He was secretary of the board of Foreign Missions for ten years.

James married a Miss Archibald and they had eight children, one of whom was Rev. Ernest Bayne who was ordained over Murray Harbour, RBI and married Isabel, daughter of Rev. Alex Munro (present at the induction of Alexander Falconer at Queen Square Church in I862) of Valleyfield, Prince Edward Island.
