GHNN, REV. Dr. SAMUEL C. Supply Minister at Zion April 26, 1871 - Jul 18, 1871

Born: c. 1837 Ordained: Nov 16, 1870 Died: May 18, 1918

He was born in East River St. Mary‘s Nova Scotia about 1837, and Educated at Dalhousie University and Presbyterian College, Halifax. He was ordained and inducted over West River, Prince Edward Island November 16, 1870. He was appointed supply Minister for Zion Church by Presbytery in April 1871 (the name Zion was first used August 24, 1870). In 1873, West River was united with Brookfield and Clyde River.

He moved to West St. Peter's, Prince Edward Island, June 3, 1876 and Springside, Nova Scotia, April I, 1883. Translated to Scotch Church, Boston June I, 1887, and later moved to Romulus, New York State. He died May 18, 1918, leaving a widow, formerly Miss. Sutherland, and five children. Two Universities honored him with D.D.'s.

FRAME, REV. WILLIAM R.

Born: 1830 Ordained: Aug 15, 1862 Died: Jun 30, 1888

Rev. Frame was bom near Schubenacadie, Nova Scotia in 1830. He studied in local institutions and Edinburgh, Scotland. He was ordained and inducted over Lot 16 and Summerside on August 15, 1862. He moved to Mt Stewart and West St. Peter's on Sep 7,1871. Mr. Frame was present at the induction of John M. McLeod at Zion on Jul 19, 1871. Mr. Frame retired in Mar 17, 1885, due to ill health and lived in Charlottetown. Although having resigned, he was still a member of Presbytery, by consent of the General Assembly, who allowed his name to remain on the roll of Presbytery. When his health permitted he preached in vacant charges. Most of his time was taken up as editor of the Protestant newspaper the Guardian. As a writer he had no superior on the editorial staff of the province.

He died of consumption on Jun 30, I888.
