Rev. Ross accepted a call to Knox Church, Goderich Ontario , and preached his last sermon at Zion on November 13,1910. His text for the sermon was Exodus 14:15 -"Speak unto the children of Israel that they go forward". Both morning and evening services were full to capacity, as he charged the congregation to always press onward, never satisfied with past achievements. The farewell address was carried on the front page of the Guardian the next day. He was inducted as minister at Goderich, Ontario on November 22, 1910. During his ministry at Goderich, pew rents were abolished with all sittings being free. A weekly calendar was introduced and a manse was purchased. From there he went to St. Matthew's, Point St. Charles , Quebec . In 1925 he was a loyal supporter of the Church, tireless in his efforts to repair the breaches and in the building of churches following church union. He was next in Lachine and Montreal West followed by Erskine Church, Ottawa. On November 22, 1933, he was inducted as pastor of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Fredericton , New Brunswick . On May 12, 1935, Rev. Dr. George E . Ross , B.D. , D.D . returned to Zion for the celebration of the seventy-fifth anniversary of the congregation and the twenty second anniversary of the construction of the new church. He preached the sermon in both the morning and evening service, with the scripture for the evening service being read by Rev. Dr. Robert Moorhead Legate of St. James Church. On September 22, 1935, he returned to Goderich to speak on the occasion of the celebration of one hundred years of Presbyterian ism in Goderich. While in Fredericton , he donated to the Church, his individual communion set given to him by Lady Ashburnham . He served for 5 years at St. Andrew's in Fredericton , until November 29, 1938. He was listed, in 1942 as retired and living in Granby, Quebec . He served as Moderator of Presbytery and Moderator of Synod and his knowledge of Church law, doctrine and procedure made him notable among his brethren. Dr. George Edward Ross , B.A. , B.D ., D.D . passed away on June 15, 1945, at Montreal General Hospital after an illness of five years. He was listed as survived by his wife Carrie Allison Graham , of Halifax, by three sons: Dr. Hugh Graham Ross, on Montreal, Surg. Comdr Alan Ross , R.C.N ., of Halifax and Sheldon Ross of the National Selective Service, Ottawa, and one daughter, Mrs. H.E. MacMahon , of Cambridge , Mass. -94
