PRESBYTEENS

First reported in I967, the group of 20 met on Sunday evening following the evening service. Fund raisers supported Camp Keir, and a church directory on Grafton and Prince Streets. In I97I they had a Rock-A-Thon, with the proceeds ($436.05) going to the church loan. They took part in the morning service once a month and formed the choir for the evening service. Members also helped with library duty.

RED CROSS SOCIETY

Organized in I9I6, during the war. The committee collected: 44 hospital shirts, 33 suits of pyjamas, 60 pillow cases, I2 covers for hot water bottles & 55 pairs of socks, all of which were handed to the Central Red Cross Society.

SEWING CIRCLE

Organized in I879 with Miss Annie Campbell, Mrs. A. Stronach, and young ladies of the church as members. By I903 it was a branch of the Ladies Aid Society. By 1907 the Sewing Circle had some forty members, whose beautiful fancy work materially added to the finances of the year.

ST. ANDREW'S A.M.S. AUXILIARY

Formed on February l3, I956 under the name "Guild of St. Andrew's", under the encouragement of Mrs. Elizabeth Brown, wife ofthe minister at the time. It serves as one of three A.M.S. mission groups at Zion. The first president was Norene (Auld) Walton.

TENNIS CLUB, ZION CHURCH

The first mention of the Club is the I922 report, showing twenty three members playing on two courts. An additional court was added in 1924. The Club raised money through bake sales, donations and ticket sales. Expenses included work on courts and $3.00 for tennis balls. Reports run until I930, when the name changed to "The Maple LeafTennis Club ofthe Y.P.S.C.E.
