Hughie was a good provider for his large family. Every year, he would have a car-load of potatoes and one of pulp to ship to market. In spite of a busy life, Agnes still had time to socialize with her neighbours. They had spinning frolics where they would go from house to house to spin yarn. There were some who could not spin, so they brought along their knitting needles and they would knit mitts for the . Lunch was served, and they were happy to meet and chat with their neighbours, since there were no telephones in the area at that time. Hughie died in 1980, but Agnes still continues to live in her own home. All in all, Mrs. Sheehan says that life, although busy, has left her with many happy memories and blessings. She is still able to visit family and friends, attend church and play bingo, all of which proves, as Mrs. Sheehan says, "That hard work doesn't hurt anyone." On May 23, 1998, Agnes celebrated her 90th birthday with an Open House at Inn. Family members, neighbours, and friends, were present to extend birthday greetings on this happy occasion. 42
