Later, Jimmy returned home, and now with some money, started to renew his farming operation. The next year, with the assistance of another carpenter, he built a new barn, purchased some more animals, and life improved for Jimmy, Marion and Martina who were willing to forget their misfortune. Jimmy never looked back. Because of his initiative and hard work, he was able to become a prosperous farmer once again. In 1957, he retired from farming and moved to Toronto , where he and Marion could be near Martina. Here, he accepted a position as a custodian for the Toronto School Board, and continued to work for seven years before returning to , Prince Edward Island , where he lived until his death in 1975. 72
