Another time, he was driving his granddaughter, Pam, home and he took his dog along for the ride. The dog jumped out through the window. When he arrived at her gate, he missed the dog. He turned the car, went back home, picked up the dog, made the second trip to her driveway, and let Pam out. He wanted to make sure that the dog was happy, too.

In the late seventies, Robert retired due to ill health, but being a very ambitious man, he continued to display his talents. He manufactured spinning wheels, clocks, hand-sleighs, swings, etc., many of which can still be found throughout the country—side today.

On March 17th, 1992, Robert died, leaving with us memories of a man of many talents, that have been passed on to his son, Leo, and they are still used to enrich the lives of others.
