Eggs were scarce in the winter, when there wasn’t much feed for the hens. Marjorie recalls her brother, Bernie, hiding the few eggs so that they could all have a treat for Easter. On Easter morning, he would come into the house displaying his cap full of eggs, which everyone enjoyed.

Although this household had some hard times, the good outweighed the bad. They were happy, and there was peace and harmony within this family. What more could they want or wish for?
