ALEXANDER ANDERSON (1822 - June 13, 1892) son of ROBERT and MARY (Ramsay) ANDERSON — Rt. 6, Stanley Bridge
m. CHARLOTTE RAMSAY (1824 - Feb. 3, 1925) The Anderson family was involved in shipbuilding as well as farming on the Mill River Road. The Anderson Shipyard (also called
“Shipyard Point”) was well known in the ship-building business. This location would be a second shipyard as they already had one at Anderson’s Creek.
Andrew Ramsay, from Alberton, nephew of Charlotte, farmed the property for a number of years after Alexander Anderson died. In 1926 the farm was sold to Richard Woolner.
ALEXANDER and CHARLOTTE had three children.

BENNETT
FRED BENNETT was the son of George Washington Bennett and Sarah Isabel Spinney, of Alberton, PEI. Fred came to work on the Alexander farm on the Mill River Road in 1900. He
married Alex and Charlotte Anderson’s daughter, Mary Jane, and continued with the farming
business until 1926. At this time the family moved to the East side of the Village. {see Village East}
HUTCHINSON
In the 1891 Census, a number of the WILLIAM ,IAMES HUTCHINSON family, formerly from Lot 16, are recorded as being residents of Stanley Bridge. Hutchinsons lived on highway #6 close to the end of the Mill River Road. This property was later owned by Kenny Toombs,
and Austin Walsh and his family.
