DOUGLAS

RAY DOUGLAS (Aug. 28, 1920 - Sept. 29, 1987) son of John and Alfaretta (Clark) Douglas, Norboro, moved his family to Stanley Bridge in 1946. He had served in the RCAF during World War II. He married Jan. 28, 1943 ANNIE M. CARR b. Aug. 1, 1922 daughter of Robert and Lucy (Cole) Carr, of New London. In 1946 they purchased the FULTON and GEORGE BROWN property on the Mill River Road. It was sold to Allie and Vivian MacNeill in 1961. At that time they moved to the next farm, formerly the McINTOSH proper— ty, and built a new home. Annie resides there today. Ray and his son Alan purchased the ser— vice station at the “corner”, in 1968. They named it the R & A Service Station. Alan and his wife, Eileen, operate it today. Annie was employed in the K.R. MacKay store, and later in the Tourist Bureau at the New London Complex. Annie and Ray had a family of six children -

1. Anna Rae — Registered Nurse b. June 13, 1943 In. May 13, 1967 Robert Simmons - formerly of Wilmot They have two children ~ Peter and Krista — and live in Fredericton, NB.

Wigmore Road. Peter is a Crop Insurance agent for the Provincial Government

Nancy is as Administrative Assistant. They have two children ~ 1. Susan Melissa b. June 3, 1977 2. Angela Patricia b. July 13, 1978 Both girls are University students 5. DOUGLAS

ALAN b. April 22 — 1949 m. June 20, 1970 EILEEN ELIZABETH SIMPSON daughter of Clifford and Jean Simpson, BayView. They own the R & A SERVICE STATION. Alan was previously in partnership with his father, Ray. The service station is located at the Junction of Rt. 6 and 254. Their home is next to the home property on the Mill River Road. Alan and

KAREN ANN DOUGLAS b. Dec. 24, 1958 m. Dec. 30, 1988 JERRY BELL formerly of Montague and now Stanley Bridge and Halifax. They have one son, Dylan, presently attending Queen Elizabeth Elementary School, Kensington. Jerry is President of the Nova Scotia
