CHRISTENSEN The largest section of the Robert Fyfe property is owned by the Christensen families located behind the Carr/Fyfe homes. On this acreage they have built sixteen cottages. In the late 1980's Earl and Esther Carr sold Motel and their home to the Christensens. One broth¬ er, Stephen, his wife, Susan and family resided in the former Earl Carr home for two years before moving to their new home in Breadalbane . This new tourist business is now known as the Stanley Bridge Country Resort . The co-owners of this Resort , are Stephen's brother, Dr. Paul and his wife, Dr. Christine . They reside in their new home in Long River . These families have established an impressive tourism business. In 1997, besides the cottages they have added a twenty-eight room inn, and refur¬ bished their ten unit housekeeping motel. The new restaurant has been named Fyfe's Landing in honour of the original owners of the property. The former Sutherland/Gallant home owned by the Christensen brothers is now the site of the Furniture Company. The brothers turned the house to face southwest rather than south. It was also situated further from the highway. Another building on this property is the Stanley Bridge Studio. This building houses a variety of crafts and arts created by well known Island artisans.
