FERGUSON MAXWELL (Max) (1888 - Sept. 29, 1973) and NINA GLADYS PARKMAN (Dec. 12, 1896 - Mar. 1987) FERGUSON moved to Stanley Bridge , from . They pur¬ chased the property from Ella Manson , of Alberton , on January 12, 1943. Max was a Veteran of World War I. After farming in BayView , the family retired to Stanley Bridge . Max was a great lover of horses and was daily seen out on the highway exercising his animals. Stewart carried on this love of horses after he retired from the Armed Forces. Gladys was active in community organizations. They retired to Charlottetown . Max and Gladys had a family of three: 1. Nina Bernice (Jan. 22, 1917 - June 1988) m. 1. Grant Horace MacLeod (Dec. 9, 1911 - Oct. 7, 1976) lived at Simpson's Hope River , BayView and later Charlottetown. They had four children: Beverly, Earith, Carol, and Deborah. m.2. Duncan MacLeod - of Spring Brook - lived in Charlottetown 2. STEWART (May 12, 1921 - June 8, 1991) m. EILEEN SMITH (Feb. 21, 1917 - May 19, 1995) of Bathurst, Stewart and Eileen were both Veterans of World War II Stewart and his son Wayne , both served in the Canadian Peace Corps. The family retired to Stanley Bridge . Eileen worked for a number of summers at The Marine Aquarium . Stewart and Eileen had six children. Gaylen, Gary, Wayne , Gregory, Terrence (Terry), Richard (Ricky) 3. Vaunda (Aug. 9, 1930 - Apr. 30, 1980) m. Joseph "Plum" MacDonald (June 15, 1918 - July 13, 1992). They lived in Charlottetown and had four children: Mackie, Randy, Hal, and Tarra. Since Stewart and Eileen's deaths the property has been sold to Catherine MacKinnon and Donald Harron . The former Nicholson tailor shop is now renovated and is aptly named the "Carmody Gift Emporium". As well, the Ferguson home has been restored and converted into a beautifully appointed restaurant. Catherine MacKinnon and her husband Donald Harron have taken a great interest in keeping the property in its historical perspective. 290
