The Lauchlin MacKay family lived close to the present service station in Stanley Bridge. Lauchlin MacKay purchased % of an acre of land from Charles Anderson, dated Nov. 27, 1876. The family moved to the Dundas area about 1885. Lauchlin and his brother Alexander were involved in the carriage building trade. They had started their carriage and wagon building busi-
ness in Stanley Bridge. Four of Lauchlin and Tillie's sons were given credit for building the MacKAY HORSELESS CARRIAGE.
Lauchlin and Tillie had six children: 1. Jack M. m. Urling MacLeod and moved to Nova Scotia. They had two daugh—
ters. 2. Daniel m. Maude Church. They had no family and moved to Nova Scotia. 3. Annie Polly (1877-1946) m. 1. Sweet
m. 2 Carl Rudolph MacKay 4. Robert Stanley "Stan" MacKay (1879-1944) m. Louise MacLean (1880—1906). He was known as "Stan” the blacksmith. After he left Stanley Bridge, he went to Nova Scotia to help his brothers produce their modern horseless carriage. Allan was unmarried and lived with his sister Annie and husband, Dolph. 6. Bessie m. Frank MacFarlane and they had three daughters.

WEEKS
WILLIAM WEEKS b. Aug. 14, 1836 was the son of Stephen and Eliza Large Weeks. William married CHARLOTTE COUSINS b. Oct. 4, 1850 daughter of Hugh and Jane South Cousins. The Weeks family first resided at the corner of Rt. 224 and the North Road. They later moved to the Lauchlin MacKay house in the village.
