MCKENZIE Mac KENZIE

WILLIAM MacKENZIE m. HANNAH MORRISON, daughter of Roderick and Flora Faulkner Morrison, (buried South Granville) The family came from South Granville and lived in the house where the present Shell Service Station is located. Records indicate that the MacKenzie family purchased a lot of land from Dougald Henry on March 28, 1878. WILLIAM was a postal employee in Stanley Bridge. WILLIAM and HANNAH had two children: 1. JOHN MacKenzie In. FRENCH and they had two children: [1.] Fred (1909 - Jan. 5, 1937) m. Hazel Murl, daughter of Charles and Gertie Robbins Murl of Freetown. Fred and Hazel had four children 1. Albert Charles (Fred) {see Fred MacKenzie} 2. Frederick Elmer (Aug.20, 1935 - Nov. 28, 1935) 3. Marguerite b. 1937 m. Carson Hayman

4. Sheldon [2.] Dan m. and most of family moved to Ontario. 2. ANNIE MacKenzie m. Cross and they moved to British Columbia.

[2.] William MacKenzie II (Sept. 13, 1908 - Mar. 4, 1980) was brought up by his grandmother, Hannah MacKenzie m. Aug. 21, 1963 to Mrs. Marjorie Young.

Marjorie had two children: 1. Patricia Young b. Jan. 29, 1947 2. Irene Young b. Jan. 29, 1951

William II helped his grandmother raise his cousin, Albert [Fred] b. Dec. 14, 1933 son of Fred and Hazel Murl. 'Billy' made a living by daily labour and blacksmithing at the Quinn forge across the road from the hall. He lived in several places in the District, one being the former Bulman house. Here he purchased 19 acres of land from this property. He sold this house to DB. Reid and purchased the Jacob Best house located across from the school. When "Billy" died the property went to Albert (Fred) MacKenzie.

Albert (Fred) b. Dec. 10, 1933, son of Fred and Hazel Murl MacKenzie, moved to Toronto, ON after completing school. Fred studied to become a nurse. m. 1. Evelyn Eaton They have one child: Robin Lee m. 2. Rose Marie Foster Roberts and have one daughter: Dawn Marie b, Nov. 23, 1965
