In the early 1980's Fred and some of his family returned to Prince Edward Island. Fred worked as a nurse in Charlottetown, but decided to return to Toronto. He sold the property to Alden Smith. This property has been sold

a number of times during the last ten years. It is presently owned by Greg and Rebecca Donald.

HILLMAN

JOHN HILLMAN and his family lived near the present Service Station in Stanley Bridge. John carried on the blacksmith business across the road from the present hall - or the Junction of the present #6 and #224 Highways. John purchased land from James Coles in 1889, in Lot 22. The family moved to Cavendish about 1900. They purchased the house and blacksmith shop which had been established in the 1870's by James Woodside. This was on the site of the pre- sent parking lot of King 'Iht's Tomb/Enchanted Castle. Their home was on the opposite side of the road. It is part of the tourist business Cavendish Lodge & Cottages.

John Hillman (1851 - 1944) m. Annie Cobb (1856 - 1934) (?)of Bedeque They had three daughters and one son. Their son died in infancy. 1. May, a daughter moved to the United States 2. Bessie b. 1879 m. Stanley Wedlock of Stanley Bridge. {see WEDLOCK} 3. Bertha (1883 - 1935) m. Ray Clark (1886 - 1982) of Stanley Bridge son of Mr.

and Mrs. John C. Clark. {see Clark history} Bertha and Ray had three children:

1. Ira (Lorne) Clark (1913 — 1944) m. Jessie MacLean. She is a resident of the Garden Home in Charlottetown

Ira moved with his parents to Union Road.

He joined The Air Force in World War II and was killed in Italy in 1944. Their family included:

1. Phyllis Broughton b. Mar. 6, 1937 Ira and Jessie's grandson, Michael Clark Broughton (July 1, 1961 — April 20, 1. 991) He is buried in the family plot in the Breadalbane Cemetery.

2. Helen b. Jan. 3, 1916 m. Cecil Palmer her son, Donald Ives, was killed in an industrial accident in Charlottetown. He was only six years old.

3. Daphne, adopted daughter, is married to G. MacAulay. They live in Sussex, NE.
