ALFRED and ANNIE McKIE FYFE had a family of three sons: 1. JOHN - farmed on Wedlock/Bulman farm 2. Gordon ( Road - Home farm) 3. Elmer - first farmed the Sutherland property - (moved to West side of the River - see Robert Fyfe properties) 2. DONALD GORDON FYFE (Nov. 2, 1905 - June 17, 1966) son of Alfred and Annie Fyfe, Road m. Sept. 16, 1942 MARION JEAN GILLESPIE (Jan. 4, 1914 - June 26, 1986) - daughter of John and Edna Fyfe Gillespie of Long River . Gordon and Marion continued with the farming business. They had four children. 1. JOHN ALFRED b. Dec. 26, 1944 m. Apr. 28, 1984 KAREN PATRICIA KELLY b. Sept. 4, 1962 They reside on the John Fyfe Sr. property and own 365 acres of land which they maintain in the mixed farming operation. Alfred and Karen have five children. 1. Erin Christine b. Dec. 22, 1984 2. Erika Merrilee b. Oct. 02, 1985 3. Michelle Jeannine Patricia b. Mar. 17, 1987 4. Kate -Lynn b. July 8, 1989 5. Patrick Gordon b. Mar. 25, 1997 2. WILLLAM WATSON (Sept. 25, 1947 - Nov. 16, 1965). Farmed with his mother and father. Killed during early fall snowstorm when tractor upset at Stanley village. 3. Infant (Feb. 16, 1954) 4. Donna Jean b. Sept. 26, 1955 m. 1. Dec. 6, 1974 Roland Edward Farris b. Mar. 22, 1956, son of William and Evelyn Jean MacDonald Farris of Freetown and Wilmot Valley . Later divorced. Donna m. 2. July 23, 1985 to Wolfgang Szczypiorkowski (Wolf) b. June 16, 1951, son of Theodore and Maria Hehney Szczypiorkowski, Austria. Wolf is a career man with the Canadian Armed Forces. They live in Ontario . SIMPSON DAVID SIMPSON b. Nov. 11, 1931, son of Cecil and Marjorie Simpson, m. Dorothy Elaine Ford b. Sept. 5, 1934 daughter of George and Irene Ford, Ebenezer. They resided in BayView until 1972 when Parks Canada was purchasing the lands along the Cavendish beach. They were able to purchase ELMER and HILDA HISCOTT FYFE's farm, who were retiring and building a new home on their farmland in the Village East. This had been formerly owned by Robert Fyfe . David and Dorothy continued with the farming business as well as being involved with the Tourist business. They opened a Bed & Breakfast and purchased four of the six cottages which made up Don MacKay and Mary Jean 's The Highlands. Their family is grown so they have partially retired from farming but enjoy the summer visitors who come to their home. 366
