After she completed her cottage, Marion stayed in Stanley Bridge as long as weather conditions permitted before moving to Charlottetown for the winter months.

Marion was known Island wide for her great humanitarian deeds. She considered it to be a priv- ilege to help the less fortunate and adopted children through the “Foster Parents’ Plan”. Her gen- erosity helped one of her ‘foster sons’ to come to Acadia University to study as an Accountant. He is now a resident in Nova Scotia and owns a cottage in Stanhope PEI. Marion was respon— sible for his education. She also assisted TB patients and their families who were taken to Canada by the Federal Government after the Second World War. While living in Stanley Bridge Marion was a faithful member of Stanley Bridge United Church and was a valuable choir member. She died in 1987.
