ARTHUR P. JOHNSTONE b. July 27, 1922 m. AMY JOHNSON b. Dec. 20, 1924 on Nov. 6, 1944. They moved from Long River, to Summerside to the Rattenbury Road where they now reside. Arthur purchased property October 17, 1983 from Darrell Campbell. They have two

children.

1. Ruth Lois b. Nov. 29, 1945 m. Wayne R. Johnston of Moncton, NB. They had one child. Sherri Lynn Johnstone (Feb. 12, 1968 - Aug. 11, 1993) m. Preston Keith Stuart of Moncton, NB, January 19, 1991.

2. Dr. David Elmer b. July 6, 1948 m. Kathleen Kowey b. July 10, 1950 on May 24, 1975. They have three children. Jennie b. May 2, 1977 Alex William b. Dec. 28, 1979 Kenneth Luke b. Aug. 9, 1985

McLEOD/MacLEOD

ANDREW McLEOD (July 24, 1824 - Mar. 24, 1907) farmed along the Rattenbury Road. He owned 98 acres which bordered on the Stanley and Trout Rivers. On Jan. 14, 1871, 50 acres of this property was sold to his neighbour, Donald MacLeod. The site for the ferry which crossed

the Trout River would have been located on part of this property.

ANDREW (1824-1907) m. EUPHEMIA (Effie) MacKENZIE (Jan. 12, 1841 - June 21, 1924). They had the following family: 1. CHARLES (Sept. 11, 1871 - June 9, 1929) did not marry. Charles lived at home. After his death the farm was taken over by his sister, Mrs. Gertrude Brown and her son, Edgar.

2. Margaret b. Jan. 28, 1870 Mary b. Aug. 1, 1875 m. Dr. Barnes and lived in USA.

4. Ella _R_um b. Sept. 16, 1877 m. A.S. MacKay and lived in Summerside. He was

in partnership in Brace & MacKay Ltd. There were four children in the family

1. Albert 2. Jessie 3. Effie 4. Alexander

5. E. GERTRUDE (Mar. 18, 1880 1967) In. Aubrey Brown. Gertrude took over the home farm from brother, Charles. Gertrude and Aubrey had one son, EDGAR b. May 1, 1916. He lived in Summerside and worked at Brace & MacKay Ltd. T. Andrew Townsend b. May 14, 1882 did not marry and lived in USA. G. John Gordon (Sept. 5, 1884 - June 17, 1914) did not marry and lived in USA. George (May 24, 1887 - Apr. 3, 1909) Belle m. Alan Stewart. Kate m. Donne and lived in California, USA. Barbara m. Barnes and lived in Boston, MA, USA.

TINNEY HAYES

In 1960 Ruth E. MacLeod MacKay sold three pieces of land to Reagh and Dorothy Tinney of Summerside. Between 1966 and 1969 Gerald and Anna Hayes also of Summerside built a cottage on land which they had purchased from the Tinney’s. After Gerald Hayes’ death in 1974, and his wife Anna’s death in 1982, the new owners became their niece and nephew, Ann Boyle

of Napean, Ontario, and James Ronan of Summerside.
