CUTCLIFFE The Cutcliffe property on the is presently owned by three sons of Francis (Frank) W. and Winnifred MacDowell Cutcliffe, namely Ben, Byron and Wayne . Their home was origi¬ nally in Fredericton , PEL Here Frank operated a general store business until he and Winnifred retired to Charlottetown . Frank and Winnifred's eldest son, LLOYD , purchased the William MacKay land in 1959. He did not have long to enjoy his cottage land as he, his wife, Elaine, and their infant son, David, were all killed in a private plane accident on May 20, 1963. Lloyd's mother and father contin¬ ued to own the land until Frank's death in 1968. Winnifred then divided the land on the Trout River side of the highway, to her three sons: BEN , BYRON , and WAYNE . Here the sons each built a summer home which they and their families enjoy today. It is a quiet, rural area where their stays can be enjoyed among the creatures of nature. COLES Arbour Glynde is the name given to the property of SALLY and LAURIE COLES , which is located on the Trout River (Glynde) Road and purchased by them in the fall of 1971. This property is totally wooded and consists of twenty-eight acres of land. It was purchased from Messrs. John and Eric Parsons and their aunt, Mrs. Lilian Parsons . The land had origi¬ nally been obtained by the Parsons Family from the Commissioner of Lands for Prince Edward Island and remained in the Parsons name until its purchase by the Coles family. The property was selected because of the indigenous Jack Pine , White Pine and White Birch, its proximity to the Trout River and its potential for privacy and solitude. In the spring of 1972, with a view of creating, over an extended period of time, a home with the usual amenities associated with a spacious rural life-style, they built a house and landscaped a modest area complete with vegetable and flower gardens. Laurie is a retired Graduate Civil Engineer, a Registered Architect and Commissioned Land Surveyor. He was the owner of Coles' Associates, Charlottetown . LAURIE A. COLES b.
