John Cavendish Clark was the son of Andrew and Sophia (Bagnall) Clark of Cavendish and grandson of the original Clark family who arrived from Clarkmanshire, Scotland, in approximately 1775. John C. married Annie Margaret Simpson, daughter of Hon. Jeremiah and Margaret (MacNeill) Simpson of Cavendish. They purchased over 200 acres of land east and north of BayView Bridge. Here they construct- ed a large home which burned around 1915. {For further information of Pickering land owner-

He was on the Board of Directors for Stanley Dairy Co. and served as School Trustee and Secretary. Mr. Clark also acted as a Justice of the Peace. He was much interested in politics and attended political meet-

ings for miles around.
