They divided the original 300 acres into two parts which extended east of the river, from the village to Anderson's Creek. This area was used extensively for their shipbuilding and saw mill businesses. Along with this acreage ROBERT I, in 1866, purchased 100 acres of land at the end of the Mill River Road - more commonly known as the WOOLNER property. It is not known if Robert I and his family lived here or if it was his son Alexander ( IV ) and his family who built the home. Here the Anderson descendants were also involved in expanding their large export business. According to the first survey maps of the present Stanley Bridge area, the first settlers of the land in the BayView area were William Pickering who owned 360 acres, and Alexander Anderson who owned 300 acres. The Anderson property extended from the village to Anderson's Creek. The original 300 acres of farmland which belonged to Robert and Charles has been divided many times since the late 1700's. 472
