(Patriot, Oct. 19, 1903) Baptists Dedicate Church The Baptist Church in Georgetown was dedicated Dec. 6, 1903. Rev. G. R. White of Charlottetown and Rev. Mr. Coffin of St. David's Presbyterian Church, Georgetown , preached on the opening Sunday. The main actor in getting the church built was said to be James Manuel . He was assisted by Edward Leeman and others. The total cost, including furnishings, was $3,000. The church seats 275 people and was painted by Messrs. O' Brien and Macdonald.The pastor is Rev. Dec. 12, 1903) Sunday School Christmas Tree "The annual Christmas tree and supper for the children of the Church of England Sunday School was held Friday evening at the residence of Mrs. Westaway . After filling up at the supper table, the children assembled in the room containing the tree which was handsomely decorated with the presents and candy. Strings of colored popcorn were festooned over it and the whole lighted up with the justly-celebrated candles. In a short time Santa Claus made his appearance and joy was depicted on the faces of all except one little tot who, frightened at the sight of Santa's furs, mask and whiskers, burst into tears.
