Oct. 30, 1915, Patriot publishes pictures of activities of 2nd Siege Battery training at Brighton in Charlottetown, inc. Lieut. Temple Macdonald and “Lining Up for Dinner.”

Dec. 13, 1915, Patriot: The Minto (John L. Reid, Captain) arrives in Northern Russia to assist the Kanada (formerly Earl Grey ) and other ships attempting to break ice barriers for munitions ships etc.; Georgetown men in crew; Messroom Steward; Fred Owen; 3rd Engineer, John Smith; 4th Engineer, Frank Dalziel. Dec. 11, 1916, Guardian: Georgetown elects S. C. Knight as mayor and R. R. Jenkins, Peter Ross, Howard Macdonald, John McCormack, Daniel Skinner, F. Soloman as councilors Town Clerk was Andrew Lavers; concerns of the time were electric lighting; the Gordon Building, street rules; at a meeting reported in Guardian, June 9, 1917, Ronald Yoston was appointed poundmaster.

Dec. 15, 1916, Patriot: S. A. McLean, wireless operator from GeorgetoWn, is drowned.

Jan. 1, 1917, Guardian: Principal’s room at the school now has single-seat desks and a new “hydroplate” blackboard—great progress.

Feb. 5, 1917, Patriot: Nicholson replaces Flynn as station agent.
