D. “At his family residence in Georgetown on the 10th inst. after an illness of seven days duration in the 70th year of his age, Hugh Mcdonald Esq., Collecter of Customs and Excise and Controller of Navigation Laws for Georgetown and Three Rivers. For upwards of 50 years past the deceased acted a prominent part in the affairs of his adopted country, more especially at and about Three Rivers, as a merchant and shipbuilder of the highest standard, a Sheriff and one of the judges of the Small Debt Court for King’s County...
