"[On the 8th inst.] Georgetown has lost another of its highly respected and most esteemed townswomen in the personage of Mrs. Alex Walker , wife of our popular harness-maker. Mrs. Walker was suddenly taken ill on the evening of Friday the 8th inst. and after lingering on the verge of death for some days, passed away from this life, entering a quiet and peaceful sleep. Her remains were followed to the Presbyterian Cemetery by a large number of the inhabitants and friends from neighboring districts which showed the esteem in which she was held by all who knew her. Mrs. Walker was 64 years of age, a kind and loving mother, an affectionate wife. The people of Georgetown and surrounding vicinity sympathize greatly with Mr. Walker and his family. (Weekly Examiner.
