At Charlottetown, Sept. 25th, Mr. Donald McPhee, Georgetown, age 89. “Despite his advanced age he attended church daily, walking a considerable distance to do so.” His wife predeceased him about two years ago. He leaves a brother in NE. and two sisters, Mrs. Michael McDonald of St. George’s and Miss Cicely, at home. The funeral was from the home of his niece Mrs. H. D. At Boston, Nov. v7th, of pneumonia, Mrs. Daniel F. Kennedy, nee Priscilla Logan, age 78. She was born in Pictou County but lived for many years in Georgetown, P.E.I. where she taught school with the late Malcolm

McLeod, Q.C. She leaves to mourn two sons and four daughters: Sydney in Boston, Ernest in Alaska, Mrs. Dr. Thomas Morey & Mrs. Dr. J. M. Master, both of Boston. D. “At Boughton Island, on Nov. 14, 1913, Martha J. Hemphill, relict of the late Joseph C. Allen, aged 78 years. She leaves one son, Nathan, at home and three daughters: Mrs. Charles Johnson & Mrs. James Mrar, Georgetown, and Mrs. John Allen, Boughton Island beside a large number of sorrowing relatives and friends.” (Gmdian, Dec. 11, 1913)

D. “At Georgetown, Dec. 19th, Captain William McLaren, age 76.” His parents came from Perthshire to Brudenell but he was born at Richibuctou, N. 8.. Much of his life was spent upon the high seas. He will be rememberedas the captain of the Enterprise. He leaves to mourn his widow, two sons, Frank, of Winnipeg and William, of Vancouver and one daughter, Mrs. Harold McDonald, Toronto. F. At Georgetown, Jan. 28th. Mr. Thomas McLeod, engineer and “brilliant graduate of McGill University”, who died in Western Canada “in the prime of life” after an appendicitis operation, brotherof William, Albion, Sadie, Annie & Charles. Burial in St. David‘s Cemetery. (See Guardig, Jan. 20 &30)

D. At Georgetown, Jan. 17, 1914, of diabetes and Bright’s Disease, Mrs. Jessie McKeeman, age 71, of Murray Harbour North. Hospital, Feb. 25th, 1914, George William King of Boughton Island, aged 34, leaving a wife and family of 8 small children, aged parents living on Boughton Island, four brothers and three sisters: John A., Gasperaux; Murdoch, Sturgeon; Daniel, at home; Henry and Mrs. Hugh McCormack at Chatharn, N. 3.; Mrs. Edward Praught, Waltham, Mass; Mrs. Nathaniel McKinnon, at Milltown Cross. D. “Suddenly at Georgetown, Mar. 31, Mrs. William O’Brien, aged 60 years, leaving a husband and one daughter, Mary, to cherish her memory and mourn her loss” (Examiner, Apr. 3rd, 1914)

D. Suddenly at Georgetown, April 5th, John Smith, Sr. age 90, the oldest resident of Georgetown. He was a native of Armagh County, Ireland but came to P.E.I. at age 11, and had been resident of Georgetown for 51 years, for 40 years as a blacksmith. His widow, also a native of Ireland survives him. Pallbearers were W. W. Jenkins, Capt. A. A. McDonald, J. W. McPhee, T. W. Morrisey, Seymour Knight, and James McPhee.
