D. At the City Hospital, Ch'town, Jan. 13th, Harry Joseph McLean, aged 52, eldest of the family of the late Mr. & Mrs. Bernard McLean. He was born in De Gros Marsh but moved to Georgetown thirty years ago. Surviving are brothers, Frank and Angus, Georgetown and sisters Margaret (Mrs. Leonard MacDonald) Antigonish, N.S.; Molly (Mrs. Oliver Oberson), Detroit, Mich; Florence (Mrs. John Monet), New York; Rose, New York City. D. At the King’s County Hospital, Feb. 25th, Mrs. Daniel (Matilda)Gordon, aged 84, afterafall five weeks ago. She was born in Malpeque daughter of Neil McGougan and married John Smith of Millview and after his death Hon. Daniel Gordon. She was first president of the Woman’s Missionary Society. of St. David’s Church. She leavesa brother, Fulton, Vancouver and sisters Mrs. Eliza Compton, St. Eleanor’s, RBI. and Mrs. Thomas Ramsay, Mill Valley, P.E.I.. Interment in Geo’town. (From Patriot, Feb. 26. 1940)

B. “At Georgetown, Mar. 1, 1940, to Capt. & Mrs. C.H. George, nee Elsie Knight, a daughter.” (Guardian, Mar. 6, 1940)

D. In the Ch’town Hospital, Mar. 31, 1940, Charles Delorie, aged 78. He followed the sea from boyhood. Surviving are his wife, formerly Martha Marchand of Georgetown, five daughters and two sons: Mrs. E]. Martin, Mrs. Grace Ellis, Mrs. James Leonard, Miss Mary Delorie, Miss Beatrice Delorie, Frank and Wilfred, all in the U.S.A.; also brothers: Murdoch, in Charlottetown; Alexander, in Vernon, P.E.I.; John, Georgetown; Peter, Pictou, N.S.; Benjamin rn Dartmouth, NS. and a sister, Mrs. Sophia Johnston, Georgetown; another sister, Mrs. Wallace MacDonald (Virginia) died in Pictou about a year ago.
