D. On Dec. 10th, at Georgetown, Mrs. (Capt.) Nelson Fairchild. She was born in Georgetown as Lila Ahoe Kennedy, daughter of the late Daniel & Mrs Kennedy. She was musical and played at many concerts. She sang in St. David’s Choir and was a member of the S. P. C. A. and noted for her kindness to animals and birds. She is survived by her husband and the following children: Joseph and John in Boston, both veterans of World War

1; Pte. Ernest, Canadian Army Ordnance Corps, Sydney, C.B.; Miss Kathleen, attomey-at-law in Boston and Miss Rose who cared for her mother during her last illness. Also surviving are a brother, Sidney, and a sister, Kathleen, widow of Dr. Jonathan Martin, Boston. Services were conducted by the Rev. D. At Westville, N.S., Dec. 17th, J. Thomas Parker, aged 64, son of the late Capt. & Mrs. David Parker, Georgetown. He was a Town Councilor in Georgetown and an elder of St. David’s Church. D. Of a sudden heart attack in Victoria, BC, May 3, 1944, Skipper-Lieutenant John Daniel MacPhee, R.C.N.V.R., officer in command of HMS. Armentieres. He was born in Georgetown, P.E.I., the son of Daniel MacPhee. He worked first on the square- rigger, Aquila, under Capt. Senacabaugh, then joined his father in the Klondy ke Gold Rush. He took up navigation studies' 1n B. C., buyt went overseas in World War 1, in a Vancouver Battalion. He was prisoner-of war in Germany
