Her husband predeceased her in 1903 and she has outlived all her family of six sons and one daughter. In 1946, after the death of her last son, she moved with his widow, Ella MacKinnnon , to Georgetown . Her obituary says' "the gaclic, she learned as a child from her pioneering parents, as she did the arts of weaving, spinning and candle- making, and were practiced almost daily for many years of her lifetime.".
