D. At the home of her daughter, Anna (Mrs. Keir Clarke, Montague, P.E.I.), Mrs. William W. MacLaren, of Georgetown (nee Flora MacKenzie). She taught school in her early life and after moving to Georgetown she was active in many aspects of Georgetown’s civic life and in her church, where, among other things, she was Sunday School Superintendent. She was a well-known elocutionist. She leaves to mourn her daughter. Funeral from St. David’s Church. (From Guardian, Jan. 9, 1958)

On Jan. 18, 1958, of pneumonia, at the home of her daughter, Mary (Mrs. Arnold Murphy), Ajax, Ont., Mrs. Joseph Gotell (nee Emily Mae Farrell, daughter of William Farrell) of Georgetown, P.E.I., aged 53. She was born in Sturgeon but lived most of her married life in Boughton Island, moving to Georgetown 15 years ago. Funeral to St. James Church, Georgetown, from the home of her son, Gordon Gotell. Left to mourn are her husband, and besides the above mentioned, sons: Joseph of the R.C.A.F., Greenwood, N.S., Basil, and Kimball in Georgetown; also her father, two brothers and a sister. She married Daniel MacNeill 56 years ago and leaves to mourn three sons and a daughter: Sterling, of Windsor, Ont.; Lynwood, at Mount Allison; Ewen at home and Delite (Mrs. Henry Boswall), Mt. Mellick. She also leaves to mourn step-children (her sister’s family, also MacNeills): Alexander, Regina; John, Lake Verde; Daniel, Detroit; Margaret (Mrs. C.E. Weatherbie), Mansfield, Ohio; Minnie (Mrs. Percy Acorn), Calgary; also 23 grandchildren and 11 great—great grandchildren; also step-grandchildren. Funeral from Birch Hill Church of Scotland, P,E.I.) D. At Georgetown, Feb. 13th (15th), 1958, Mrs. D.J. MacCormack (formerly Annie L. Morrison, daughter of Peter Morrison), aged 85. She was born in Port Hood, Cape Breton, one of a family of seven, but came to Georgetown with her family at age 5. She married Daniel J. MacCormack 63 years ago and moved to Boughton Island, where she raised her family and was postrnistress after her husband’s death. She moved back to Georgetown ten years ago. She leaves to mourn sons : John J., Souris; Daniel, teacher at Georgetown, and Frank in Georgetown; and daughters, Genevieve, (Mrs. James D. Lanigan), Cambridge, P.E.I., Mary (Mrs. Patrick Giddings), Cambridge, and Lower Montague, P.E.I., and a sister, Mrs. John F. Leightizer, Charlottetown.
