D. At Georgetown, Sept. 4th, 1958, Mrs. Mabel Lavers, in her 72nd year. She was the former Mabel Stewart of Gasperaux and was a practical nurse. She married Harry Lavers who predeceased her and left a family of three daughters and three sons: Dorothy (Mrs. Stephen Landry), Georgetown; Francis (Mrs. Emerson Llewellyn), Georgetown, Edna (Mrs. Judson Baker, Trenton, N. S.; Theodore, Charlottetown, Richard and Fenwick, Georgetown; also grandchildren and great grandchildren and a sister in St. John. Funeral from St. David’s Church (Guardian, Sept. 6, 1958)

D. At the Ottawa Hospital, Ottawa, Ont. on Sept. 22, 1958, Lt.-Col. Seymour S.[Sid] Weatherbie, of Carleton Place, Ont. formerly of Bellevue, P.E.I. and Georgetown, P.E.I.. He was born in Georgetown, P.E.l., April 28, 1876, the second child of John and Jessie (Parker) Weatherbie and became known in military circles as “the Father of Canadian Munitions." He is survived by his second wife, formerly Mrs. Gladys Houston, a son, Alfred, of Charlottetown and daughter, Lorna (Mrs. Murdoch McGowan), Kilmuir P.E.I.. His first wife was Jessie Maude Wran, of Quebec City. She died in 1940.. Also surviving is a sister, Maude (Mrs. Frank Tibbetts) of Camden, Maine. Interment in Valleyfield, P.E.I. D. On Jan. 7th, at Georgetown, Daniel Henry Martell, in his 85th year. He was born in Arichat Cape, NS, and moved to Georgetown at age 7. He was a fisherman. He leaves to mourn his second wife, the former Helen Gallant, of Rustico, and daughters: Isabel (Mrs. Paul Iaprade), Bowmanville, Ont. and Mary (Mrs. Albert King), Georgetown and an elder brother, Michael, of Georgetown.
