Found dead in his room in Vancouver , some time ago, Dr. Percy Lome Lavers, aged 78, native of Georgetown, P.E.I. . He lived as a recluse in a $9. a week room, but had 32 bank accounts and had amassed a small fortune. Five people attended his funeral in Vancouver . He left his estate of $466,000 to his sisters Florence, Mae and Pearl in Georgetown . Also surviving are two brothers, Lester in Georgetown and Newman in the United States. He was the son of the late Capt. Nelson and Mrs. Fairchild , Georgetown, P.E.I , and a veteran of the First Great War in the 193rd regiment. Surviving are two brothers: Joseph F. Fairchild , Somerville, Mass; and Ernest N. Fairchild , Montreal, and two sisters: Kathleen ( Mrs. Alexander Way ), Swampscott, Mass. , and Rose ( Mrs. Vincent Halpen of Miami, Florida . She was formerly Mary Agnes Fay of Newport, P.E.I. , and taught school until she married. Her husband was at one time principal of Georgetown High School and later School Inspector for King's County. He died in 1943. Mrs. Murphy returned to Georgetown and in 1952 was appointed Town Clerk. She leaves to mourn a daughter Joan ( Mrs. Harold Publicover ), Georgetown , vice-principal of Georgetown High School, and sons: Gerald F ., of the teaching staff of the Crowfoot Indian School, Clung, Alberta; Joseph Herbert at University and James Michael Herbert also at St. Dunstan's ; also two brothers Leo Fay and Malcolm Fay and a sister, Mrs. Harriet Scott , Boston, Mass. . He was born in Souris , the son of Paul A. Scully and his wife Mamie Maclnnis . He moved to Georgetown with his family at a young age. He taught school and became principal of Georgetown High School. He also served in the militia and in the armed forces in World War 11, and rose to the rank of captain . Latterly he was King's County Vegetable Inspector for the government. He was active in community affairs and at the time of his death was chairman of the local school board. He leaves to mourn his wife, formerly Agnes French of Panmure Island ; four daughters: Sheila ( Rev. Sister Joseph Marie of the Congregation of Notre Dame), New Glasgow , N.S .; Doreen , attending Prince of Wales College; Sharon and Patricia, at home; also a son, Gary, at home. A daughter, Anita , died in 1946 in Dartmouth, N.S. .
