D. “At the Prince Edward Island Hospital, on Jan. 21, 1962, Mrs. Victor Rafuse in her 70th year. Funeral from St. David’s Church.” (Guardian, Jan. 23, 1962) She was born Ella Rafuse, daughter of Capt. John and Ina MacKeeman Hemphill)

D. “At the P.E.I. Hospital, Feb. 13th, 1961, Arthur E. Jenkins of Georgetown, P.E.l., in his 75th year.” He was the son of Wallace Jenkins and Sarah Fairchild Jenkins of Georgetown, and served in the community as justice of the peace, deputy prothonotory and town clerk. His wife, Myrtle Manuel, predeceased him. He leaves to mourn sons: Robert C., of Halifax, Fred of Imperoyal, N.S.‘, Hibbett of Georgetown; also two sisters: Annie (Mrs. Ralph Foss) and Nellie (Mrs. E. C. Rogers), both of the U.S.A., and ahalf brother and sister: W. Reginald Jenkins of Charlottetown and Louise (Mrs. J. T. Holmes of Florida (From Guardian, Feb. 14 & 25, 1962)

D. “Suddenly at the Charlottetown Hospital, Feb. 19th, William'l‘emple Gotell in his 74th year. He was born in Georgetown, the son of Henry Gotell and his wife Sarah Batchilder, and served for 50 years as Georgetown’s harbour pilot. He was also a lobster fisherman. and served on the town council. He is survived by his wife, formerly Mary Perry of Ti gnish, P.E.l., a son Forden, of Charlestown, Mass, a sister, Mathilde (Mrs. Milton Hemphill), Pictou, N.S., and two brothers: John C. and Frank of Georgetown. D. At the Prince Edward Island Hospital, Charlottetown, Mar. 6, 1962, John T. Dalziel in his 75th year. He was born in Georgetown, P.E.I. Jan. 8, 1888, the son of John A. Dalziel and his wife Jemima Robertson. Besides his wife, the former Mabel Rodd, he leaves to mourn daughters: Doris (Mrs. Arthur Myers), Chariottetown and Norma (Mrs. Carl Currie) Murray Harbour North, P.E.I.; two brothers: Albert, Charlottetown and James Hutton, Halifax and two sisters Jessie (Mrs. Lloyd Shaw) and Katherine, both of Charlottetown. D. At the home of her daughter, Mrs. Rev. Dr. Waldron MacQuarrie,on Mar. 13, 1962, Mrs. Chester Llewellyn in her 76th year. She was born Charlotte Loretta Blackett, daughter of the later Robert Blackett and his wife ElimbethHatcher, LittlePond, P.E.l., After her marriage she moved to Sturgeon and in 1918 she and her husband and family moved to Georgetown. She was predeceased by her husband, Chester, in 1955, and by her daughter Clarina (Mrs. Leonard Campbell), Montague in 1953; also by two sons, Newman and Glen who died in childhood. She is survived by daughters: Janie (Mrs. MacQuarrie) and Rosaline, R.N. in Hamilton, Ont. and by four sons: Emerson, Howard, Chester and James, all of Georgetown and by 17 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Three sisters also survive: Mrs. Andrew Ia Pierre, Annandale; Mrs. William Jamieson, Georgetown and Mrs. Philip Jamieson, Sturgeon. Funeral from St. David’s United Church, Georgetown,

He was born at White Sands, P.E.l., the son of the late James Henry and Mary Ann Porter, but spent nearly all his life in Georgetown, P.E.l. He conducted a meat market and was involved in community service as town councillor, as a director of the King’s County Exhibition and was Dominion wharfinger for the port of Georgetown. He also kept races horses and was involved in horse racing. He leaves to mourn: his wife, formerly Agnes Soloman; two daughters: Mary Lou (Mrs. John Walsh) of Georgetown and Roma, at home; two sons, and Percy, both at home and one sister: Mrs. Maude Hobbs, of Dartmouth, N.S.. D. At the King’s County Memorial Hospital, Montague, April 24th, 1962, George Benjamin White of Georgetown, in his 751h year. He was born in Murray River, the son of the late William Henry White and his wife, the late Ellen Allen, of Boughton Island. He moved with his family to Georgetown at an early age. He was first a lobster fisherman and engaged in the coastal trade. Later he became court bailiff and was jailer for ten years (1936—1946) after which he was a crew member of the ferry. Montague 11, from 1946, retiringin 1954. He was married twice, first to Julia Hemphill with whom he had his family, who died on 1936 and later to Lillian Mae Lane (Peardon). He leaves to mourn three daughters: Ina (Mrs. Edward Sarson), Hespeler, Ont; Eileen (Mrs. Al Kane), Calgary; Marjorie (Mrs. William Hobbs), Moose Jaw and a son Ernest, Halifax. Also surviving are two brothers: William of Borden and Russell of Georgetown and a sister, Helen (Mrs. John Turner) of Charlottetown.
