D. At the Livingston-MacArthur Nursing Home, April 10, 1963, Miss Anna J. R. Mair, R.N., former superintendent of nurses at the RBI. Hospital, in her 77th year. She was a daughter of James A. Mair and his wife, Maggie Allen, Bumt Point, and was born in Moosehead, N.S.. She taught school in Georgetown and other places and then took trainingas a nurse at the P.E.l. Hospital and at the Royal Victoria, Montreal. She was deeply involved in the relocation and building of a new P.E.I. Hospital and received public recognition for her work in the development of the nursing program at the hospital. She retired about ten years ago and is survived by brothers: George, in Burnt Point, and Charles in Saskatoon; also nieces and nephews. Funeral from St. David’s Church, Georgetown. D. “At his home in Georgetown, April 13, 1963, Peter Melville Ross in his 92nd year.” He was the son of Peter Ross and Margaret Weatherbie. His wife, Havilah Graham, predeceased him in 1939. In early life he worked on the S.S. Enterprise and the Georgetown- Lower Montague ferry and later at farming and as a blacksmith, a trade he learned from his father. He also served as a town councillor. He is survived by two sons: Gordon, at home, and Melbum at Clyde River, P.E.I.. Two daughters, Lydia and Winnifred, predeceased him. Also surviving are three sisters: Mary (Mrs. Daniel Phillips), Jessie (Mrs. Alwood), Minnie (Mrs. Blanchard) all of Brookline, Mass; also three half—sisters and two half-brothers: Myrtle (Mrs. Babineau), Charlottetown; Ella (Mrs. David Lavers), Georgetown; Eleanor (Mrs. James Llewellyn). The family moved to Georgetown from Boughton Island in 1945. She is survived by four sons: Lloyd, of Toronto; Jack, Halifax; Donald and Lionel both of Georgetown and four daughters: Frances (Mrs. Charles Watts), Grand Tracadie, P.E.I.; Beulah (Mrs. Newton O’Connor), Toronto; Olive (Mrs. Sidney Bruce), Toronto; Mantra (Mrs. Joseph Kinnear, Georgetown. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Victor in 1960. Left to mourn are three daughters: Emma (Mrs. James E. Morton), New York; Hattie (Mrs. Warren Baker), Georgetown, P.E.I.; Theresa (Mrs. Wilfred Gotell), Georgetown, and six sons: John, Jamaica Plains, U.S.A.; Wilfred, Newport, P.E.I., Nelson, Dartmouth, N. 5.; Louis, Halifax, NS ;Kimball, Cardigan, P.E.I.; Leo, Charlottetown. He is survived by a son, Raymond, Georgetown mayor, and daughters: Sister Carmelita, C.S.M. of Kingston, Ont; Helen (Mrs. Vincent Elordietta), Montreal, Que. and Genevieve in Georgetown.
