Gotell, Georgetown, and the late Mrs. Gotell to Patrick Edward, son of Mr. & Mrs. George Smith, St. Theresa, P.E.1.. Attendants were Mrs. Roger Stanley, sister of the bride, and Louis Bradley. D. Atthe P.E.1. Hospital, Feb. lst, 1964, William Albert MacLeod, Georgetown. He was born in Georgetown, the son of the late Donald MacLeod and Evelyn Yeoman. He followed the seafor many years and was a veteran of World War 1. He is survived by his wife, the former Beatrice Publicover and five daughters: Eileen (Mrs. James Hunter), Toronto; Georgina (Mrs. Edward Clark), California; Ruby (Mrs. John Dalton), Georgetown; Margaret (Mrs. Leslie Doughty), Bridgetown, P.E.I.; Doris (Mrs. Basil Gotell), Georgetown, and two sons, Everett and Carl, both of Georgetown. He is also survived by a half brother, Murdock MacLeod and a half- sister, Mrs. Willard Brehaut, both of Hunter River, P.E.I.. Funeral from St. David’s Church. (From Guardian, Feb. 3, 1964)

D. On April 29th, 1964, at Georgetown, P.E.I., Michael Martell, in his 104th year. He was born in L’Ardoise, Cape Breton, and moved to Georgetown at the age of 19. At one time he carried on a barbering business in Georgetown. He is survived by his widow, Priscilla Doucette, formerly of Rustico and his son Raymond at whose home he passed away. E. “Mr. & Mrs. Cecil LeLacheur, Georgetown Royalty, RE. 1., announce the engagement of their daughter, Jean Elizabeth to Russell Scott, son of Mr. & Mrs. Lester Ward, Bridgetown, Annapolis County, N.S.. D. At his home in Georgetown, on June 20th, 1964, Seymour Clifford Knight, aged 93 years. He was the son of the late John Knight and Harriet MacEwen (SE). His colourful young days saw him sailing the seven seas in square rigged ships, travelling over land to find gold in the Klondike, and serving as the first Dawson City fire chief. On return to Georgetown he operated the drug store left him by his father. He also dealt in coal. He was a former Georgetown mayor and was active in many aspects of community and church affairs. He leaves to mourn his wife, the former Martha Steele of Gasperaux and two daughters: Enid of Toronto and Elsie (Mrs. Clayton George) of Lucan, Ont., who nursed her father for the past year. D. “On May 21st, 1964, at the Charlottetown Hospital, as a result of a heart attack, James Poulton, Georgetown, P.E.I, at the age of 73. He was the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Poulton and was born on Oct. 18,1890. Left to mourn besides his wife, Abi gal (Swallow), Annandale, P.E.l., are a brother, William, in Montreal, three daughters and two sons: Helen (Mrs. Allen MacLeod), Rene (Mrs. Robert Stevenson), Ruby (Mrs. Gilbert Quinn, Harry and Oliver, of Charlottetown.
